Dear Mary, I feel so blessed to have your perfectly beautiful cd. Even more so now with the loss of New Orleans. Your pure voice and remarkable musicianship have given me a way to go there in my sadness and be lifted up with the joy of your music. Thank you Mary

Mary - I looked up your site because I was feeling nostalgic for the IGS class I took with you this past summer. I am trying to make the DVD I bought last until next summer, but I'm ready for another workshop already! Hope things are going well.

I noticed you play what looks like an old gibson L-100. I have one too but mine needs to be fixed. I also have a Martin D-35 but as nice ass it sounds I still miss playing my old Gibson. I was made in either the late forties or 1950, don't recall. It has many mars in the finish but the truth be told I did not add a single one. My Martin shows it age too but not any near as bad as Willy Nelson's. I also have an old Fender Jaguar (pre-CBS if that means anything) and I have a new Fender Telecaster Nashville and it show its age too. It looks brand new. I bought less than a year ago. I am working on learning "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring." I can play the first page so it sound like music, almost. I am working on "Penny Lane." I can do it. I thought I would let you know about my ol' Gibson. I always liked playing it so much. God's speed, Richard

I was just introduced to you. I heard you on the radio here in Michigan, while you were playing in Oregon! I loved it!

Bruce Smith - Sunday, August 7th, 2005 7:49 PM
Saw a news real on Portland television and really loved your music. I live in a little town about 41/2 hours south east of Portland called LaPine. It is just south of Bend Or. Would like to know if you have any CD'S and where I could get them. I have been a guitar lover for a long time and am unable to play due to very small fingers. Have tried for years and finally gave up. Just too hard. Fingers are almost too short to play a uke, but that is alot simplier. Hope that you can get your son to play with you, he does a great job on the Base. Thank you Bruce

Denise - Sunday, August 7th, 2005 6:28 PM
So nice. And what a great history--following your craft over the years with your family. Looking forward to hearing you in The Dalles! Thanks for trippin our way.

I have the key of E and dropped DVD instr. videos. They're great. I also have the ragtime DVD but haven't had opportunity to watch it yet. THe format is excellent. Keep up the good work! Thank you for the generic tricks in dropped D, too. Anything to add interest to playing is so helpful.

Steve Koehler - Sunday, May 15th, 2005 8:56 PM

Caught you at Merlefest, having missed you here in Abertillery,Wales,UK, a week or so ago. Wonderful sets; great playing. I agree with Jack Goodman - might be time to lay my guitar down. On the other hand, maybe better picking some more. Ispirational performer. Many thanks and good luck for the future.

Jack Goodman - Tuesday, May 3rd, 2005 8:59 AM
thanks for letting an old man fall in love again...just got back from Merlefest and it was the first time I had ever heard you...when you first came out on that cabin stage and played and sang....wow..I have been to Merlefest for 5 straight years now..and you just won first place in my North Carolina memories....Thank you Only negative thing was that your performances made me think I should put my guitar away and forget it...what a class act you are.....again thanx

Jonathan Robertson - Friday, April 29th, 2005 2:06 PM
I heard you for the first time at a company barbecue. The cook was listening to sirrus satelite radio which was airing a live concert at the time that he was playing over his stereo in his truck. I heard it and was like, "WOW, who is that plalying the guitar"?!?! We read the screen to find out who it was and I knew I had to find some of your music. I grew up in the mountains of Western N.C. and was first introduce to blue grass music through a man my mother hired to play for my dad's birthday, Raymond Fairchild, which was back in the 70's and only listen to bluegrass and blues once in a great while now. I love the sound of the acoustic guitar and its versatility and the style in which you play is just undefinable to me. I have tried learning how to play for many years now and I am not very good at it, probably since I have never had a teacher or been around people that could play a style that inspired me enough, but, if I knew I could have lessons from someone that plays the style that you do I would have no problem staying with it. I used to practice at the Blue Grass Center in Biltmore Forest, around Asheville, but have since moved to the big city and do not have that option any longer. Move to NC! lol. I look forward to hearing more of your music and hopefully be able to catch a live performance in the near future. Thankyou for sharing your gift with us.
